For agencies running expert channelsPublished October 8, 2026

How does an agency find video ideas for 20 expert clients every month?

An agency with 20 coaches, consultants and advisers on its roster owes each of them fresh ideas every month. Doing that by hand means opening hundreds of channels. This page gives one routine you can repeat for every client, the tools it uses, and what it costs in OutlierKit credits.

Short answer

Run the same four steps for each client once a month. Refresh the list of channels like theirs. Pull the videos that beat their own channel's average in the last 30 days. Keep the title shapes that show up on three or more channels. Write five ideas from those.

The routine uses about 15 credits a client. Twenty clients use about 300 credits a month, which fits inside the Pro plan.

Why run the research per client and not once for the agency?

Each expert speaks to a different viewer. A video that works for a retirement planner tells you little about a leadership coach. Ideas come from channels in the same specialty and of a similar size, so each client needs their own comparison set.

Size matters as much as topic. A channel with 2,000 subscribers cannot copy a channel with 500,000, because the big channel gets views from its name. Small channels that get a big video got it from the topic and the title, and a small client can use both.

Credit costs per call are from the OutlierKit API docs, checked October 8, 2026. The same costs apply in the Claude connector and the API.

How many credits does a full roster use?

Fifteen credits a client, times 20 clients, is 300 credits a month. Pro includes 500 credits a month and Max includes 2,000. Pro covers the routine for 20 clients with room left for one-off pitches. Max suits a roster of 50 or more, or an agency that also maps each niche in Competitor Studio, which uses 50 credits a run.

Clients in the same specialty can share step 1. Two financial advisers have nearly the same rival channels, so one list serves both and saves 5 credits.

What changes when the client is a coach, consultant or adviser?

  • Filming time is short. Pick ideas the expert can record in one sitting from what they already know.
  • The audience is narrow. Expect smaller view counts than a general creator gets, and judge each client against view benchmarks for coaching and consulting channels.
  • Skip entertainment outliers. A stunt video with a large multiple does not fit a tax adviser, even inside the same topic.
  • Keep the expert's own words in the title. Their clients search the way the profession talks.

What should the monthly idea list look like?

Send five ideas on one page. Each idea has a working title, the rival video it is modelled on with a link, and one sentence on why that video worked. The client can see the proof and choose two or three to film.

A longer list slows the client down. Five ideas with sources get a faster yes than twenty without.

Should you run it in the app, in Claude, or through the API?

  • Use the app for a one-off pitch, where you want to look around a niche yourself.
  • Use the Claude connector for the monthly routine. One prompt per client returns the table and the five ideas.
  • Use the OutlierKit API when the routine should run on a schedule and fill your own client dashboard.

The connector and the API are included on Pro and Max, and the connector also works during the free trial.

Frequently asked questions

How many OutlierKit credits does research for 20 clients use?+

About 300 a month with the routine on this page: 15 credits a client, times 20 clients. The Pro plan includes 500 credits a month and Max includes 2,000. A client that needs a full niche map in Competitor Studio uses 50 more credits for that run.

Can one person run this routine for a whole roster?+

Yes. Each client takes one prompt in Claude with the OutlierKit connector on, and the answer comes back as a table. Reading the table and choosing five ideas is the part that takes judgement. Most of the time goes there, not into collecting data.

Should clients in the same specialty share one research run?+

Share the list of similar channels, and keep the ideas separate. Two financial advisers will have nearly the same rival channels, so one list can serve both. Their ideas should still differ, because each client has a different offer and a different viewer in mind.

What makes idea research different for expert clients?+

An expert has little filming time and a narrow audience. Look for ideas they can film in one sitting from knowledge they already have. Compare them with channels in the same specialty and of a similar size, and skip entertainment videos even when the multiple is large.

Do I need the API, or is the Claude connector enough?+

The connector is enough for a monthly routine run by a person. Use the API when you want the routine to run on a schedule and write into your own client dashboard. Both use the same tools and the same credit costs, and both are included on Pro and Max.
