What makes a fitness video idea work?
A fitness video idea works when the title states a result or a problem the viewer already has, and a channel near your size has proved people click it. Large channels get views on most uploads, so raw views are a weak test. Every example on this page is measured against its own channel: the multiple is the video's views divided by what that channel normally gets.
I ran seven searches on 7 October 2026 and kept videos at 5 times normal or higher. Then I opened each one on YouTube to confirm the title, the views and the publish date. Two follow-along examples come from an earlier pull on 8 September 2026. The tool is OutlierKit Outliers.

Diagnosis lists reach them. The title names what the viewer already tried, says it is not working and counts the reasons. Three coaching channels got more than 5 times their normal views with this kind of title. These viewers already have the problem a coach solves.

Which fitness video idea should you film first?
Film the format that matches what you sell. A high multiple shows that people click on the idea. Check that those viewers are also the people who buy from you.
| You are | Film first | Then read |
|---|---|---|
| A coach or personal trainer who sells coaching | A diagnosis list on the problem you hear most on sales calls (ideas 1 to 5) | YouTube strategy for fitness coaches |
| A creator growing an audience from short-form | A follow-along with result, place, time and constraint (ideas 26 to 30) | YouTube strategy for fitness influencers |
| A gym or studio | A beginner series for one named audience (ideas 10 to 13) | OutlierKit for local businesses |
| A new channel with no audience yet | A science answer or a 30-day experiment (ideas 18 to 25) | Growth strategy for small channels |
How do you find more fitness video ideas for your own audience?
Search the problem your audience names, sort by how far each video beat its channel, and copy the title pattern that repeats. It takes about 15 minutes with Outliers and Keyword Research.
- Type the problem into Outliers, for example calorie deficit not working or strength training over 40. A broad topic like leg day returns every fitness channel.
- Keep the videos at 5 times normal or higher on channels near your size.
- Write down the words that repeat across three or more titles. Those words are the pattern.
- Check the phrase has search demand in Keyword Research, then write your own title with it.
